Training to Women Organizations in Gaza on mainstreaming gender and disability.
On the 8th and 9th of December 2014, a training has been provided to nine women organizations in Gaza, on gender and disability and ways to mainstream disability into their organizations.
Training to Women Organizations in West Bank on mainstreaming gender and disability
On the 26th and 27th of November, Stars of Hope hasconducted atwo days trainingto five women organizations on gender and disability and ways to mainstream Women with Disabilities into their agendas and programs. During the training, light was shed on the terms in the international convention for persons with disabilities, and the lack of environmental accessibility that prevent Women with Disabilities from being mainstreamed easily in the society.
Implementation of two days training and awareness workshops for legal clinics, public and civil Human Rights organizations, the training focused on raising the awareness on WWD issues and challenges. It was provided by SHS facilitators
On the 14th and 15th of April 2014, one of Stars of Hope’s facilitators- Ikhlas Shtayeh- a woman with visual disability- has conducted a training about gender and disability to members of the following organizations;

The training has been conducted at Ceasar hotel for two days. On day one, the light has been shed on disability definition and forms as well as the rights of disability in the Palestinian context. On the second day, the training was more about the international agreement for people with disabilities and the Palestinian law, in addition to gender and disability. Moreover, light has been shed on the problems that WWDs face in Palestine, and what is needed to overcome them.
Training to Women Organizations on disability and gender and ways how to mainstream gender and disability for relevant women organizations,
On the 4th and 5th of December 2013, Stars of Hope has implemented a two days training to representatives of ten women organizations, in how to support mainstreaming disability within their organizations. The training was held at Caesar Hotel, Ramallah. The training shed the light on the concepts of disability, inclusion, accessibility and mainstreaming.
Provided National Training for 13 CBR and Management team of Health Work Committees-Ramallah.
Stars of Hope on the 30th, 31st December 2013 has conducted a national training to 13 CBR and Management team of Health Work Committees in Ramallah. The main objectives of the training were tobuild capacities of CBR teams in gender and in consultation with DPOs working for WwDs in particular, to Help the HWC incorporate gender approach addressed to PWD in their general action plan and in their projects and activities, to train staff on how to consider gender perspective in service delivery and programming and to train gender on how to check the gender sensitivity readiness of his organization.
As a follow up for those two days training, one day training has been provided to HWC’s field CBR staff on the 3rd of April 2014 in Hebron. This training focused on practical aspect of integrating gender perspectives into the work of the 13 participants to provide them with enough skills to upgrade their work quality and gender considerations.
Provide two days of Training to Fresh GraduateLawyers “
As a way to contribute to the mainstreaming of disability within organizations, more than twenty fresh graduate lawyers from Al Najah University and Arab American University of Jenin attended training on the 6th and 7th of May 2012, by Stars of Hope Society on Rights of Women with Disabilities, and how to mainstream legal issues of women with disabilities in their work. Professional lawyers took the lead to train the lawyers on legal matters while SHS staff took part in presenting disability issues within the training.
Training to Youth Organizations
On the 7th and 8th of October 2013, Stars of Hope and through the support of Diakonia/NAD has organized a two days training for civil society organizations under the title of “Mainstreaming Gender and Disability within Civil Society Organizations”. The training was held at the Ceasar Hotel in Ramallah. Representatives from four different youth organizations attended the training, and they are; Palestinian youth Union, Marda Society, International Palestinian Youth League, and the Palestinian Vision.
