on 22nd - 23rd, November,2008, Stars of Hope Society has organized a leadership and mentoring training in Jericho at Intercontinental Hotel. It included 14 girls and women with different disabilities from most of west bank districts, to build a strong teem from women with disabilities in Palestine who can represent SHS in their cities and improve their abilities in representing the Palestinian disabled women in the national and the international conferences expressing their needs and reflecting the real situation they live in.
On 22nd, The training was opened by Mrs. Ola Abu Alghaib the chair women of Stars of Hope Society, who clarified specifically the main aim and gave an idea about the programs that the group will lead in the forthcoming months. After that, a peer support session has been done by the psychological Dr. Laila Atshan. She has touched the participants feelings through many questions and issues. Then, a recreational activity was done. The group visited the Jericho Equestrian Club which opened with qualified experts who have the knowledge and the ability to train people with disabilities on horse back riding sport.
Nest day, a workshop was conducted by Mr. Alexandre Cote. The workshop divided into three sessions. First one was about approach to disability. Second session include the unconventional on rights of persons with disability. Finally, it talked about disability movement and empowerment.
